Hi B. Johnson,
So, you are finding blood in the stool after your cat has been treated for parasites? Is the blood bright red or dark? Is there a lot or just a little (few drops)? It could be as simple as that your cat is straining when going to the bathroom or something else she needs treated for. The color of the blood can be a big indicator. Bright red blood means it is fresh, darker blood typically means that the problem is higher up in her intestinal system.

Hairballs shouldn't cause blood in your cat's stools. However, many cats do suffer from this issue. A cat's tongue is very rough and acts almost like tons of tiny hooks that grab the loose hair in his coat as he is grooming. Unfortunately, these loose hairs are also ingested, resulting in hairballs. Some cats seem to suffer with this problem worse than others. There are a few things you can do that might help, such as special food meant to reduce hairballs and vitamin treatments meant to loosen them.
