I often think that human names are the best names for our pets. Most of our dogs and cats have people names and it just seems to suit their personalities so well. Historical names can be really cute as well. I personally know cats named Shakespeare, Twain, Queen Elizabeth and Eleanor (after Eleanor Roosevelt).

This sounds like a cute kitten that is going to be an absolutely gorgeous cat. I have a few name ideas for you based on what you've told me, but human names work well for cats too. It is best to pick a name that you think will suit the grown cat. For example:

Sadie
Sable
Snickers (since the cat has a funny personality)
Sagwa (from the Siamese cartoon character)
Shadow

You'll likely also come up with some more names of your own. For example, if you have a favorite hobby, you may be able to use a term from that. Someone that sews, might name their cat whipstitch. Or someone who writes, might name their cat inkblot. I'm sure you'll come up with a great name for your new kitten :)

hello, im getting a cute little kitten on the 10th of march, its breed is a cyberdoll (a mix of Siamese Burmese and rag doll!) its kind of grey and so friendly and i really need to think of a good name!

How sweet and cute. It's unusual for them to just have one kitten. I guess Flavor found the softest spot she could for her new baby. You could always call the kitten Charmin or Northern too :).

Our baby girl Flavor just had a baby of her own, right in the opening of a twelve pack of toilet paper! The little thing is snow white so we decided to name it TP if it turns out to be a boy or Snow White if it is a girl :)

Hi I have a boy manx kitty his name is Sam Bodinnie my kitty winnie, not very nice i guess but he is terefied of squirells, birds and mice. We also have Zoelda Michelle and Grace Marie as well as Maximus Felinicus Rex and our outside cats around the neighborhood that we feed are called Murry Sparkles(sesame street) and Cleocatra Amadalla. Hope these names help! As for our other pets we have a ferret named Loki. I always liked that name!

You don't mention if the cat is a boy or a girl. For a girl, what about something like Queenie or Pink Lady? For a boy, you might want to name him something as simple as Rat or Spunky.

Hi, Janet. I love the name "Baby Blue". It reminds me of that nursery rhyme about Little Boy Blue :) Plus, you can always shorten it to "Baby" or "Blue". Our cats always wind up with nicknames for some reason :)

Hi, Cynthia. I love your ideas for names. Those will be really cute! You have some cute additional suggestions here too about naming a cat based on its markings or personality. We once had a kitten named "Tippy" because she was pure white with a little black tip on her tail. I've also seen people call similar cats "Dipstick". Congratulations on the new kitten!

I'm getting a kitten and I used the names listed. If it's white and cream, it's going to be named Pearl; if it's cream and gray, then it's going to be named Misty; but my favorite cat name is Dancey and Babe (Babe means baby)

I know it's not original but when we first got him, he was put into a dark cage because he was wild and felt calmer in the dark, well the only thing I saw was four big feet all white and glowing, hence the name "Socks".

i have 3 cats, and i am getting another one. one of names is piper, she is named after a witch because everytime she comes into a room and she meows she brings a magical presence. another cats name is piewacket, she is named after an evil witch because she is evil too. the last cat's name is cat because she comes to that name only. the next cat doesn't have a name yet.

I have a cat named Kissy who gives Kisses when you say "Kiss". She had a litter of kittens and one is Jasper for my sisters friends cat who died the day before they were born. And by brother wanted his cat to be named Alexsandra but we call her Sasha for short. Therer full names are Kissy Tabby Fix, Jasper Dash Fix and Alexandra (Sasha) Shilo Fix. We love them very much. Also one of my favorite names for a cat that is gold,brown and black with any other olors is Twix. Or Snickers. Or Milky way. Also for a brown cat Hershy. Candy bar names are always cute!
