i named my black kitty Umbra, in celestial reckoning, it's the darkest part of a shadow and she follows you around like a shadow too.

i named my little black guy miles davis .. simply because the real miles davis was the coolest black man in all history. although, i do tend to call him miley, which gets people asking if i named him after miley cyrus, and that's a big negative.

Severeal years ago, my son and his wife unexpectedly adopted two kittens they came home to find in their garage.(on a Friday the 13th!) The coal black one is named Friday T. XIII - and the Grey Tabby is Toni T. Tiger. ("T" of course, meaning "The"!!)

Great name, Galvezton. I once had a black and white cat named Orange Slice. Why that name? I love orange slice candy and he would try to eat it too. It just seemed to fit him. It just goes to show you that it is okay to think outside the box, when it comes to pet names :)
